- Academic qualifications: The student should be class 12 pass and should have studied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Computer in his class 12 exams.
- Gender: Only male candidates can apply to the post of a SSR.
- Marital Status: The candidate must be unmarried.
- Citizenship: Citizens of India, Bhutan and Nepal can apply to this post.

- Fill up the Application form carefully so as to make sure that there is no error in filling up the form. Forms which provide incorrect information will be automatically rejected.
- You have to provide all your personal details as well as details regarding your academic qualifications.
- Keep your mark sheets handy so that you can calculate the aggregate marks quickly.
- You also have to upload your photo with your application form. The photograph should be a clear one with a blue background. Applications which do not have the attached photograph will be rejected instantly.
- The candidate has to take out printout of the Application Form and send it to the mentioned addresses of the Indian Navy office. You have to attach self-attested copies of your class 10 and 12 mark sheet with your application form. If you have a NCC certificate then you should get it attested by a Gazetted officer and send it attached to your application form.
